Resilience Coaching

Why do people need a Resilience Coach?

Some people are more adapted to life’s challenges than others. They have personality traits and habits that make it easier for them to face challenge and let anything not central to their moving forward just roll off their shoulders. But even those people could find themselves in-the-midst of long-term, chronic or post-traumatic stress.

People generally are very resilient, and people are capable of learning coping skills to improve the quality of their lives and decisions.

What does a Resilience Coach do?

A Resilience Coach partners with you to:

1) gain an objective perspective, the big picture

2) explore new skills and solutions while enhancing present strengths

3) plan for greater adaptability based on new skills

4) provide the accountability necessary to sustain your plan

So what makes some of us more vulnerable to stress? What are the circumstances that cause some to get stuck in difficult emotions and challenging circumstances? Why do some of us seem  unable to find creative solutions to move forward, or feel worthless, hopeless, unfocused, fearful of giving or receiving help from others, and cut off from opportunity?

The answer to those questions lies in nature and nurture; both in what we inherited, what we perceived in our early childhood, and what we experienced throughout life.

Resilience can be acquired, but resilience involves deeply rooted patterns of behavior that have been learned and practiced throughout one’s life.  To develop resilience, you’re going to have to challenge some of your assumptions about life, learn a few new tricks, and remake your daily habits.

Most DIY Resilience skills are quite simple but are far from easy to master.  That is why resilience coaching is necessary to achieve the results you want. You need a trusted partner to help you unravel habits that aren’t helping you, replacing them with new habits that put you in position to achieve the freedom, confidence and emotional intelligence you desire.

People and organizations utilize DIY Resilience to…..

Face life’s challenges head-on and move forward with more confidence, motivation and a positive mindset.

Experience an improved sense of self and self-knowledge that improves decision making while decreasing burn out, illness and long-term health consequences.

Lose less time stuck in difficult emotions, gaining time and ability to take advantage of life’s opportunities.

Greater control of emotional management in a way that releases tension and frees attention and creativity.

Move forward with new problem-solving skillsets to meet and move through challenges big and small.

What Happens in Resilience Coaching?

We talk. We plan. We Explore. We Find Solutions. And You Implement your plan.

We only talk about the areas you identify as needing improvement.

If it’s your goal to redirect difficult emotions from specific events, we will work slowly and patiently to avoid additional trauma with a focus on gaining confidence about what to do whenever those emotions arise.

If your self-knowledge is in good shape but you need assistance with sticking to a routine, developing long-term goals, or strengthening your support system, sessions will focus there.

You’re in the driver’s seat. I’m your navigation system.

In essence, we will walk through these steps:

  • An assessment will provide baseline information about where you are in your resilience journey.
  • You’re in the driver seat. Your coach is your partner in helping you move forward in the areas of life you identify as challenging you right now.
  • Coaching explores basic sensory, behavior and coping techniques to challenge assumptions and find solutions. Each person’s experience in coaching is uniquely their own as a result.
  • The result of your process will be a balanced way forward with healthy boundaries, improved focus, and emotional management.
  • The accountability in your process will help you develop habits that promote sustainable independence. Ultimately, coaching leads to greater independence.
